Ballard is Sold. For sale is a truly outstanding Ballard Rifle in 44/40. It is one of the Ballard hybrids and only 6 or these were ever approved by the NSSA. It comes with an SAC card, and it is skirmish ready with a brand new flip up peep sight for 50 and 100 yards, Shoots center of mass. The gun has been relined by Hoyt and has 5 land and groove rifling. I use 24 grains of Goex 3f with an NOE Keith style bullet sized .430". All of the metal and wood are in great shape, and the original finish has aged to a nice looking brown/gray. The trigger breaks just under 4 1/2 pounds and I was very satisfied with it. The barrel is octagon so it is heavier than the normal Ballard carbine and holds nicely with the extra weight. The barrel length is 24.125". I hate to part with it, but I just have too many Ballards and I have run out of space. I have another Ballard Rifle with a 30 inch barrel that I have decided to keep and shoot. I will have this gun at the Nationals for $1,950. It is one of nicest Ballards set up for shooting that you will find and it is ready to go.
