Did you find the info you were looking for? The wife (Margo) says the Remington Model 11 shotgun was made from 1911 to 1948 and if yours is number 440 then it is a very early model. She said they made several hundred thousand of them. They originally sold for about forty to fifty bucks, or so she says. She said they also made a Model 11B, 11D, 11E, 11F, 11R and the value increases with each successive model except the Model 11R. She said if you plan to sell it or insure it then make sure exactly what model it is because the values are significantly different for each successive model, except the Model 11R. For example, the Model 11 in excellent shape is worth about $300-$350 and the top of the line Model 11F in excellent shape is worth about $2,200-$2,400. The Grades of the Model 11 were Trap, Special 11B, Tournament 11D, Expert 11E, Premier 11F and the 11R is a riot gun. If it has a vent rib or a solid rib then add about 25-30% in value. This info is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate but it may give you a starting point in your search for info.

Hey John, as I mentioned, my good friend's father-in-law left his grandkids guns that were very important to him, I volunteered to identify, verify safety and in general help him out.

They have three Remingtons.

Two 12Gauge Model 11 shotguns.. i was able to fix the barrels as April 1941 (CK) and Dec 1945 (XPP). thanks to the website! :D

the serial numbers are approx 440xxx and 720xxx.

also, he left his grandaughter a nice Remington Model 550-1 22caliber semiauto

i don't see a serial number on this one and the barrel says B AA, which would be January but I don't see an AA on the list just MM(1943) through ZZ(1953)

I think this gun may be older than the shotguns, but i don't know

anyway, thanks John
