Hi, I've just aquired C16377. Has been Converted to 50-70.
Was wondering if there's any info on it?
Thank you very much in advance.

Looks like a standard 1863 New Model carbine. 55,000-60,000 of them were made between 1863-1865.

I did a quick check, not listed in SRS or "Civil War Sharps Carbines & Rifles" by Coates and McAuley. Interesting to note they list # C16378 as issued to Francis Kengon of Company E, 22nd N.Y. Cavalry. "Close but no cigar".
