Up for sale is a Euroarms p1853 Enfield. It was defarbed by Novelty Ordnance and Lodgewood Mfg. This rifle was modeled after the first English arms to be imported early in the war and has the buttplate and ramrod numbered "3991". The lockplate is "E.P. Bond, London" as well. The stock was recontoured, and Todd Watts ground the barrel bands down to more closely resemble the Palmer style bands used on most Enfields during the war.

From the Horse Soldier:
"The Confederate government contracted for the purchase of 30,000 Enfield Rifle Muskets to be delivered in October 1861 through April 1862. These firearms had hand engraved inventory numbers put on the tang of the buttplates; 3 series were to be delivered, each numbered 1 to 10,000, with the second series engraved with the letter “A” and third series letter “B”.

The bayonet is original and fits the rifle perfectly. It has a brown patina on the socket, with darker gray metal on the blade, which would clean up nicely as well.

This is a fantastic piece for a Southern-minded living historian and a defarb Enfield that you typically do not run across. Also included is an original British cone protector that was refurbished with new leather. Asking price for the total package is $1,000 with the bayonet, shipped CONUS.
