Offering an original M-1855 Bayonet Scabbard (NO BAYONET) in FANTASTIC, unissued condition!
Eight rivets, leather is smooth and intact. Features sharp/crisp stamps (A.D. Landley US Ord Dept - and - R. Nece Philad)
Final (brass tip) is complete. Stitching is perfect/tight.
Of note: In order to make this item appealing to a larger audience of serious collectors ? I have NOT used modern cleansers on this item so as to not damage the leather. As such verdigris is present on/around the scabbard?s brass rivets. This item is as it was, when it was stored at a federal supply depot.
This scabbard was obviously never issued. Any collector with an original bayonet in similar condition, this scabbard will complement it beyond description!
Obtained in the 1950s, this authentic item has been sitting in climate controlled storage.
Similar original scabbards are for sale on line NONE were close in appearance or condition as to what is offered here!
