SOLD: Original .52 Sharps New Model 1863 Carbine
Offering a VERY nice arm that was once used in skirmishing. Serial Number: 83450
The metal finish has an even smooth brown patina. The bore is good with deep/strong rifling. All fully functional, tight and crisp action. She’s a GREAT specimen that has been worked up for skirmishes – hence the raised brass front sight. Aside from the front sight, she’s completely original.
Stock is solid/sound with slight dings. NO cracks, gouges or signs of repairs from abuse.
Given Sharps stellar reputation as a first rate breechloader, she’ll make an OUTSTANDING competition arm, OR a welcome addition to any collection. Purchased many decades ago, she’s been sitting in climate controlled storage – patiently waiting to be taken back on the skirmish line and put to good use!
