SOLD: Original Burnside Carbine
This piece is ALL original, and in VERY GOOD condition!
No signs of having ever been used in skirmishes. She's been sitting quietly in climate controlled storage for over 50 years. As such she'll make any buyer happy - either as : a GREAT addition to their collection, OR a spectacular-medal-winning skirmishing piece.
Serial Number: 13768 (all matching). Traces of case hardening on breach parts/action.
BEAUTIFUL/BRIGHT BORE, it's action is crisp, tight and strong. Wood is in GREAT shape - two cartouches clearly visible. A few VERY minor dings, but NO signs of damage from abuse or neglect. One of her previous owners lightly, but clearly and neatly etched their initials "L L" on the buttstock (shown in photo below).
