I have a nice original M1863 type 1 Springfield rifle-musket that was built for skirmishing (I'm not a skirmisher). It has a very nice lock which shows the original color case hardening finish. The stock has had the fore end grafted under the middle band, and it's extremely well done. It has the inspector's cartouche on the side panel, and is in nice condition. The barrel is from Whitaker, and is marked ".577" underneath. It has been fully glass bedded and has a pristine bore. I value this musket at $1200. I'd like to trade it for an English or American fowler of about equal value. I'd also consider a fusil, military musket, Smith, Sharps, etc,or I'll entertain any other offers. Please PM me if you're interested, can't get photos to upload.

Having trouble with the photo. Looks like "ESA" maybe? It's not accessible to me to double check. Check your email, I sent a photo.

Would you be interested in a original French/Belgium 1842, 69 cal ?, rifled musket? The musket is 99.99 percent original. I had the cone aka nipple replaced by Dan W for safety purposes. I have fired this rifled musket with round balls and blanks. The firearm will pass the NSSA trigger test of holding on half cock and at least a three pound trigger pull. It was my percussion deer rifle in Pa deer season.
I guarantee the musket will fire. Pictures upon request.

If you are an reenactor, this musket is perfect for a Union Western impression.

This is a trade, correct?

Harry, Yes this is a trade. I wouldn't really be interested in the '42. It's a fine and interesting gun, but it's not really what I'm looking for. That being said, I'll entertain any offers. As far as CW-era weapons go I'd be interested in a carbine or a percussion conversion mostly. I'm really leaning toward flintlocks.
