Pictured below is a nice flintlock 16 gauge British Officer's fusil. It has no regimental markings but has London, crossed scepters and a crown stamped on the barrel. The fusil was jug choked by Lowell Tennyson last year, and is an excellent hunting gun with either shot or round ball. I've taken both birds and bucks with it at 40 yards. The jug choking gives the advantages of improved patterns without damaging the wads as occurs with constrictive chokes. Jug choking doesn't impair round ball accuracy and this fusil shoots palm sized groups at 40 yards. For an all around game gun, this fusil is tough to beat. The buck I harvested with it was taken in wet, cold weather, and the fusil fired like a centerfire rifle. The barrel features a Jim Chambers vent liner for fast, reliable ignition. The lock time is quick enough to bag hard flying pheasants, and powerful enough with moderate loads to humanely harvest anything that grows fur or feathers. It has a fairly light trigger pull which makes it very useful when shooting round balls, and immaterial when shooting 1 oz of #6 shot. The sale includes a round ball mold, and a pair of corn cobs to allow you to continue casting as the handles heat up. The front sight/bayonet lug is properly located to insure centered 40 yard groups. $1,695.00 plus shipping costs.

yes, I reduced the price to $1,695.00 to give "the working poor" the chance to shoot the kings deer and bag the queen's pheasants. At that price, ANYONE should be able to afford a nice jug choked fowler and fill their freezer with anything edible. I've never used the fusil on crops, but I'm sure a motivated vegan could harvest corn with it.
