Good Day,
I was surfing the internet, and came across this website that claims that the product they are selling can be used to repair pitting inside rifle barrels. Has anyone heard of this product or ever used it before? If someone has used this product, how exactly does it work, ond how well does it work?
I am not tryng to cause a stir, just curious as to how this product works, and could it beused on civil war firearms.

Seems to me from the description and instructions for use that this is identical to lapping a barrel with compound. You start with a red gel , could this be like automobile red polishing compound then proceed to yellow and green. I don't think this takes care of pitting which is actual metal loss inside the bore but it does a great job of removing lead and rust in a long neglected barrel. I was taught to use half loads as the bullets are not meant for competition but just as an agent to carry the lapping compound. It seem 10 shots with each successive grit is the norm. I don't know whether I'd pay $99.99 for less than $10 worth of polishing compound.

Sounds like a lapping process to me. Lapping a barrel can remove some imperfection in it. But shooting bullets with gel on them is not the way to do it. Lapping a barrel takes some time and someone that knows what they are doing. At $99.99 for three packs of gel. Sounds more like a snake oil advertisement. Or those $19.95 TV adds. I would not buy it.
