Mike,

My brother Scott Yarling owned that musket for many years and shot it quite well. He used metal polish in the barrel and lock plate. He always cleaned the barrel with a mixture of peroxide, alcohol and Murphy's oil soap. In recent years he sumped the barrel as I alwats did (and do) after shooting.
The musket was assembled by Nick Breevort (Gator Den) many years ago.
It is a very nice rifle.

I only disassemble once a year. I made a sump out of a plastic 1/2 gallon jug (orange juice) and a piece of 1/4" ID poly tube from the hardware store. Break Free after a good cleaning.
