As a note to our community of shooters regarding bore size of some of the guns I have currently seeing. I will not mention makers with the issues. What I am seeing is the the bore and groove diameters do not match the identification stamped on the barrel. There is one maker who makes guns with a larger bore and groove size that is stamped on the barrel, this is not a safety issue, just performance.

I just got a recent production Sporting Rifle marked 54 caliber with a bore diameter of .511 and groove below .530. The gun is unfired....thankfully. It also came with big bullets, (.557) It could have created an over pressure event, and would have also been a huge leaker that would have been very uncomfortable.

My message to anyone not familiar with these guns is, do not trust the stamping on the barrel, slug it, and measure to be sure. There are several guys in our community who can do this for you if you are not sure.
