armisport lock

I have a 1861 armisport springfield I would like to put a original lock in it. Will a original fit thanks .Allen

Long story short, it's possible.

I would not go out and buy any lock and expect it to fit however. You may need to trim metal off the lockplate to make it fit better; or it may simply drop right in as if it was meant to be.

I would take your Springfield to a show and try some locks in it to see how they fit.
