Is there any info/pictures on M1816/22/28 cone-in-barrel alterations that were
converted to 2 band guns(musketoon length)? I have read that the Richmond Arsenal
exchanged some Virginia Manufactory muskets for cone-in-barrel weapons, and I
have seen documentation on the Virginia arms that were altered. It seems reasonable
that there might have been cone-in-barrel musketoon alterations also. I am aware
of post war hunting guns as I have several cut down stocks w/ butt plates, tg's,
rear bands, 1 bad shortened barrel, etc.. I was considering building a representative
war time example, with some reproduction parts thrown in, if there is any reasonable
example to follow.
