If there is no date code, is it possible to determine when it was made? Serial number on the barrel is 599. There are three small staburst type proofs with a sheild below the first, PN below the second and FINITO under the last, then XVII after these (1957?). It's a three groove bore.
Also, I can not detect that the breech/bolster is a seperate unit, the breech plug is of course, but I can't find a seam line or metal discoloration that this would be a three piece barrel. Is this possible?
