I am selling my 1858 Remington New Model Army .44 cap & ball revolver made by Uberti. It has NEVER been fired. When I received it several years ago from Dixie Gun Works I took it out of the box cleaned all of the grease off of it and put it back in the box. It is in the same condition as I received it. It came with a 1/2" scratch on the cylinder. I did not bother to send it back since I had intented to purchase a cartridge conversion cylinder, which never happened. I am not interested in shipping and the hassle that goes with it, BUT I will deliver it to the fort or other locations in Virginia. For some reason I can't get the "manage attachments" button to work so if you wish a couple of photos, PM me and I will text or email them to you. ** 225.00 ** cash

"I am not interested in shipping and the hassle that goes with it..."

Since it is not considered a firearm under Federal law, it can be sent via the USPS, at least to the free states, those below the Mason-Dixon line and out to the West and the Midwest. It is no harder than mailing a pair of tennis shoes.

Under USPS regulation 431.3 this revolver is considered an "antique handgun. " Rule 432.2 states Firearms meeting the definition of a handgun under 431.2 (https://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52c4_008.htm#ep344365) and the definition of curios or relics under 27 CFR 478.11 may be mailed between curio and relic collectors only when those firearms also meet the definition of an antique firearm under 431.3 (https://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52c4_008.htm#ep344370)."
This seems to state that it can only be shipped between FFL C&R license holders, and it requires an affidavit to be filed.

Well gentlemen as you can see you have both offered information which seems to be at odds with each other. Hence "the hassle" I refered to in my post. I am more than willing to travel some to meet an interested party. Shoot, I could be at the fort before I can get to a UPS hub and deal with a hard headed uninformed clerk. Thank you both for your input though. The Allegheny is next weekend I had hoped someone attending would be interested. I am open to REASONABLE offers. Anybody ?.......

Dixie Gun Works ships off cap & ball revolvers every day - to everyday toads like me. Apparently Union City, Tn isn't ate up with idiots.
