I just noted that Lyman is selling a 530 grain Enfield target minie. Does anyone have experience with this projectile?

I think this is the Parker-Hale mold, I have one new in the Lyman box $75 including shipping if you are interested.

Greg, I don't have any personal experience with this bullet, but knew some fellow's some years ago who did quite well with it in the CWSA. Sounds like it uses quite a bit of lead, tho'.

I have one of these for sale also. I have shot one and yes it shoots fairly well but it does use a "bit" of lead and more powder than I prefer to use. It is a hollow base, but the base is fairly shallow.

Hello,

The minie pictured and the P/N 578675AV is the Blue & Grey, not the Lyman the Lyman 575213PH Parker-Hale bullet which is being discussed.

Thanks:

I have used this Lyman Mold in several guns and found it to work very well. (sized .577") However, you need to increase the powder charge. I use it in a original Springfield musket with 45-50 grain 3f and it shoots better then I do. I am working on some test to see how this mold compairs to the original Parket Hale mold that was designed for the 1:48 twist in the Parker Hale musketoon and 2 band barrel 1st gen. guns. It depends upon the barrel you are using, the phase of the moon and who is in the White House as to which works better in your gun.
