I've just acquired a Starr carbine with a good bore. Has anybody had any success with this gun, and with what load? I'm about to try a Sharps bullet that will fit the bore up to the last ring.

Try using SEARCH. Several posts and threads have covered this, or ask PJ, he loves to garden with the Starrs.

Thanks Stevie,
I find it's best planted with 3-4 pounds of the worst quality potting soil you can find. This tends to help them rust fast and give the appearance that they were actually of some use in the past.

You'd be best off searching for posts by Ken "Starr" Walters. He's the resident expert on the only other known use for a starr,,,,other then gardening with them.

Forgot to mention. Use a heavy cord when tying your tomatoe plants to it.
