The lever on my Ball & Williams Carbine doesn't "snap" closed - ever. In fact when in the closed position, the lever droops/sags.

I did some preliminary research on the Internet. One site said that this problem can be remedied with new link screws, and maybe even a new link. The same site noted Ballard LLC as being a good source for replacement parts. I've contacted them, but am awaiting their response to learn if their parts would fit Ballard variant, or if they even have the subject parts in stock.

Anyone experience as similar problem with their piece?

If so how did you fix it?

ANY help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Colonel, The looseness is probably caused by wear on the screws and holes in the lever/link arrangement. It only takes a few thousandths to cause the droop you speak of. New screws properly fitted and heat treated may help a lot. There can also be erosion of the breech face or chamber end of the barrel contributing to it. A longer link to correct this will raise the firing pin strike and may not be the correct way to address the problem.
