Question regarding pistol?

I have this pistol and would like to know if I can shoot it in the N-SSA?
Not sure of the manufacturer, the only markings are as follows
Texas New Army Cal .44
Made In Italy
Black Powder only
There are also three proof marks that appear to be:
1. Gardone provisional proof for all guns
2. An "AB in rectangle" which appears to be a code dating that applies to all Italian Firearms for 1976
3. Gardone & Brescia 1st black powder proof

any help would be appreciated, before I put some money into it.

May I ask why?
Everything I have found says that this is authorized.
If you were to google "*Remington New Model 1858 Army Revolver (.44 cal.) – “Lee” brass frame" multiple pictures of this exact pistol show up.
Would like to know why it is not allowed if the *Remington New Model 1858 Army Revolver (.44 cal.) – “Lee” brass frame
is the - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *NOTE: This is the only brass frame Remington revolver allowed by the N-SSA
according to
Approved Arms by Maker and Importer*

Note the approved makers list. Whitlow Precision is the ONLY manufacturer of brass framed 1858 Remingtons (Lee model) that has a blanket approval. I don't know who made your gun, but it is Italian, ergo I would say, NOT Whitlow Precision.

Why it isn't approved is due to one of two possibilities.

1. No one submitted an example of this particular gun to the SAC for consideration. If so, you could have it examined and it MAY be legal with a SAC card. If so, I'd ask John for a copy of the spec sheets. You can then take careful measurements of the gun and choose whether to buy or not based on that, and then submit for approval either at nationals or an approved regional inspector.
2. Someone has submitted said gun, and the SAC committee has rejected it as out of spec for the Lee brass framed 1858.

John's a good guy. He wouldn't steer you wrong. I'm sure he can say which of these is the case.

Shawn - The brass frame versions of the Remington revolver are all fantasy items which were never made or used in the Civil War. Therefore they are not, nor will they ever be, approved for use in the N-SSA.

The "Whitlow Precision" brass frame Remington revolver was approved somewhere around 1959 or 1960 and is "Grandfathered". It is an American made revolver, with very high machining standards, and tolerances rarely matched today. It is very accurate and highly coveted by those who own them. There were very few actually produced and I have only seen one example change hands in the past 30 years. Today, I wish it had never been approved as it only serves to confuse people.

John Holland, would you be able to get me a copy of the spec sheet?
Also, will you be at Franklinville (the first shoot), and/or where do you live, I might be able to swing by assuming you are one of the inspectors?
Or is it possible to get another frame for it and switch it out?
Also I have seen a few other brass framed pistols approved?
