I just had Bob Hoyt reline an Erma Gallagher to .515 for a Smith style 360 gr. bullet. I'd like some suggestions on lead to tin ratio. I was thinking
30/1.

I'm sure this will be one of those "ask 10 people, get 10 answers" type questions.

I can only say that my smith likes dead soft lead. A little hardness is ok, but it doesn't like hard lead at all.

Teammates of mine using lined guns shoot rock hard lead to good effect.

Being lazy, I only have one type of lead- soft.
I will shoot in all the guns. Don't want to risk contaminating my minies

When I shot my Smith I used the same soft lead in it, as I did in my .58 minnes. Modern type hard lead was not used in the days of our guns.

Hoyt relined Pietta Smith, 20/1 lead/tin, shoots real nice!
