:?: I saw mention of using an 1842 hammer on an H&P conversion. I have an 1816 parts gun and am planning on a Hoyt barrel. I will probably just stay with the cone in barrel style. If I went with an H&P... My '42 hammer (from a complete gun) is a little loose on the 1816 tumbler shaft. The 1816 is .305" sq. and the 1842 is .318" sq.. I could shim this for a tight fit. My question is; Would this be a legal gun to compete with, providing it met all dimensional requirements? I live out in Oregon and it's not likely I will have the opportunity to compete, just interested in if a substitution like this is allowed.
Thanks,
Bill
