Mike Arthur Hart's Battery, CSA

Percussion, with a funnel shaped barrel, shorter than a carbine

some sort of 1812ish boarding shotgun?

I have pictures I can email-I am not aware how to attach photos to this post

Sounds like a blunderbus. An awesome weapon, more easily reloaded atop a moving stagecoach. Converted from flintlock?

Having taken a look at the pic's Mike sent, it is (imho) a short Spanish Migulet blunderbus of the late percussion period.

It sounds like a Spanish " trabuco " , the 1800' typical spanish bandits gun , take a look at this Spanish Replica's gunmaker link...

Our teammate Russell Klotz noticed that it's a lefty!!!

I would not like to face that thing at 10 feet with a load of buckshot!!!

If it's a flintlock conversion, would it be from the 18th C?
