I'm sort of in the market for a 5 1/2 barrel 1858 Remington 44 cal either Pietta or Uberti. If you bought one and found out that it doesn't fit your style I might be a taker. I always preferred to search out the used market before buying new. I've read on several different threads from various sites that they are either a love em or hate em affair. Condition isn't a deal breaker if if happens to have some rust or neglect it won't matter. I don't know for sure not being a skirmisher but I suspect that they aren't approved by the SAC committee and are more or less oddities.
