I know that a lot of the members of the forum have had their repro Smith carbines relined and was curious as to what the ballpark cost was? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the money and effort to have it done or get rid of it and spend the money on having Charlie do the Oring mod to more of my Sharps. Can a few of you that have had this type of work done weigh in for me?

It costs $150

Thanks Pat,

That's not cost prohibitive at all so with that in mind I think I'll go ahead with a reline.

MY EXPERIENCE ......with over a dozen repor Smiths is you'll get about 2" groups or slightly better from factory. Reclined properly and find the load yer gun likes and you can put them in the same hole. That result is always worth the experience.

The reline is worth the money and you will be very pleased with it once you find the right I was

My Smith is with Hoyt right now. From what I understand about the process, Hoyt puts in a liner with a faster twist and can tailor it to your bullet size. Everyone I've spoken with who has a Hoyt reline is very pleased with the results. I'm looking forward to mine getting back.

What is the approximate turn around time now for a reline? I know that Bob stays busy most of the time.

How ever long it takes it's worth the wait and money. I have a Smith and a Zouave the Bobby relined.

From what I've heard from other skirmishers, it can vary depending on how busy he is, but as stated previously, well worth the wait.

I'm sold so far. I'll give Bob a call and get the ball rolling. Thanks for everyone's input.
