Who does the o-ring conversion on sharps carbines,and how much?

Eric Schuessler of Sherman's Bodyguards and one of the members of the 111th OVI whose name I forget both do excellent O ring conversions. Sorry about the name thing; failing memory.

Charlie Hahn has done mine and does fantastic work. His website is listed in the sutlers.

Larry Flees of the 111th OVI does these using the method perfected years ago by Sam Dobbin. He replaces the factory gas check plate with one made from Ampco bronze and fits the o ring under that plate. In my opinion, this is superior to the two piece chamber sleeve method.

I agree with Bob. I had a Dobbins type conversion done 12 years ago and it's still working well. I shoot around 1000 rounds a year. Both Larry and Eric do the Dobbins conversion

I've never tried the ring under the plate. The next one I have done I might need to give that a try.

Larry Flees with 111th is about the nicest guy you'll ever deal with. Very knowledgably and friendly. I had a problem with my Smith and he taught me (via emails) how to fix it myself. Literally, he talked his way out of some business! But that's what makes him Tops in my book.
