Need to make the thin blade front sight on my Zouave stand out against an elk's hide. Short of fitting a gold or ivory bead or trying to use White-out (which I fear will not be durable in the field), any other thoughts? I was considering wrapping a piece of beer can aluminum around the blade and epoxying ...

PUT FLOURESCENT ORANGE PAINT ON THE SIGHT. I FOUND IT WORKS BETTER TO SEE THE SIGHT IF YOU PAINT IT WHITE FIRST THEN ADD THE ORANGE

I agree with the flourescent orange paint. I use the Testors paint marker in gloss orange to do my front sights. It also makes for a quick touch up in the field. All you do is uncap the pen and touch it to the sight. No unscrewing stuck on paint caps and fumbling with tooth picks or q-tips.

What are you putting down the barrel of your Zouave for that Elk?

I'm trying several conicals, including the Lee REAL, Hornady Great Plains, Lyman OS and a custom I got from a friend.
