Just curious: have you tried it with hard lead?

Having wedged a few balls and had to call for a blow out with the fire extinguisher, I'm thinking that either one of these or a sprue remover is in my future.

I highly recommend Mike Rouche's sprue cutter. Quick and easy.

I think I would cut sprue even if I did nothing else to the ball.
