I had the pleasure to visit with Ray Rapine today, seeking some advise on an original '63 Sharps converted to 3 groove .50-70. As usual, he was very generous with his time and knowledge. A real gentleman.

Yes, but he's having trouble getting aluminum for the blocks. I"ve heard
NEI is having the same problem. Ray showed me his latest creation, a two cavity semi wadcutter minie mould for .58s. He said he could do them for .69s also. Custom stuff.

His outgoing phone message says he is not taking any new orders and is closing up shop on December 31, 2009 for good.
