I have a great coat that I would like to sell. Size 48, good quality material, very good condition and lined. On the right sleeve there is some sort of grease mark. I don't know what it is. Also, I do not know if its an infantry or mounted style. Can someone tell me how to tell the difference? It is a Union coat, light blue in color

Asking $125 shipped.

thx!

Is this a Union or Confederate coat and what is the color? The mounted greatcoat has a longer cape, generally down to the cuffs.

Do"h. I cant believe I forgot to put that "minor" bit of info in. Thx for calling it to my attention. I had bought the coat not knowing there was a difference. Wore it for years as infantry and it wasn't until I was just about to get out of re-enacting when someone said it was a cavalry coat.

The cape goes halfway down to the cuffs. In the middle of the back there are two 4" flaps whose purpose is I have no idea.

Mounted coats were double breasted, longer cape and infantry were single breasted with shorter cape.
