I have a line on an old Navy Arms / Zoli 1803 Harper's Ferry flintlock rifle, but the lock needs work. These old Italian locks did not have a reputation for high quality, as the lock internals (and frizzens) were too soft for much use.

Does anyone know if these locks can be rebuilt with better internals? Is there anyone out there with the ability / experience to do this?
I know there are now high-quality 1803 Harper's Ferry locks available, such as R. E. Davis, but I'm told they require a lot of fitting to work with these older repro rifles.
TIA,
Tom
