I have a 15 1/2 inch enfield barrel wit two lugs on the bottom like the Yeomanary carbine with a ram rod swivel lug at the end of the barrel front sight is original to the barrel the back sight is missing. Bore is perfect has inspectors marks on bottom Enfield under bolster that looks like the 1839 type has a crown P and broad arrow on the left side. Has other dashes that look like Roman numerals stamped by a chisel on the underside as well. the first lug under the barrel measures 5 1/2 from the edge of the breach the second measures 12 3/4 the lug for the swivel is 1/4th from the end of the barrel. Any on out there have info on this here critter as I would like to bring it back to life. R Filbert Pics would be nice or a web page that tells of it, been every where lookin but havent found it yet. The closest I could come is the Yeomanry carbine of 42-56 but to long and wrong caliber. I know what a pain in the tail this undertaking will be but someones gotta do it.

Hallo!

I suspect it may be a barrel from a British Paget Cavalry Carbine?

Curt -You where rite on the carbine it is a Paget and I will be glad to restore it now that I know what it is .An 1845 Carbine that was converted and rifled then, I would like to find better pics of the trigger guard though. I have some photos of it now lets see what happens! I figure I can get a ram rod pipe form IMA and maybe a but plate may even see if the have a compleate lock I have a Hollis and bros plate but it is supposed to be a Tower. Any way now I know -it has been buggin me for years. Thanks again R Filbert 7519V Hazelwood Vol

The Rifle Shoppe sells repro parts if you don't mind the mix of parts (or the possible long wait to get them).
