SOLD! A long time ago. Thank you all.
This is a Custom made competition grade iron mounted M-1855 "Rifle". This is commonly refereed to as the type II '55 "Rifle" to delineate the difference from the earlier brass mounted Rifle.
This rifle has an original lock, marked Springfield, dated 1860 with side lock screws and washers. Original butt plate and complete trigger guard assembly with screws. Finished Armory bright overall with all the small parts blued as per the original firearms.
It has a Dan Whitacre barrel, 1 turn in 72 inches, .577 minimum bore dia. Rear sight is of the three leaf 1858 type with short base, tall front sight and sword bayonet lug. $2,000.00 plus Shipping and Insurance
