The Navy Arms website (Gibbs) is advertising new reproduction Whitworth and possibly Volunteer rifles in 2016:

"In look and function, this rifle is worthy of the Parker-Hale name and, as it has been since the 1970's, superior to any Enfield replica made. Coming in 2016!"
Same as the Whitworths that are mentioned on the Pedersoli website?

NA does not list any prices or actual date of availability.

I had a Euroarms Volunteer rifle for quite a while and did real well in every long range match we had in the NWT.

Unfortunately, I joined at a particularly tense time in the N-SSA and the guys that held the long range showcase matches quit the organization. With no place to compete with that gun, I sold it to a man in Texas and found a different toy.

If you tell me that there are, or plan to be N-SSA approved log range matches at Fort Shenandoah, I'll be glad to dust off a pile of money and get another one. (Or, maybe Clint Lovell will sell mine back to me.)

Anybody know something about this? I might even be interested in traveling to a different region if they hold long range matches there.

We have a brand new, state-of-the-art CMP range down here in Talladega, Alabama.

http://thecmp.org/wp-content/uploads/CMP-Talladega-Pricing_w.jpg

They have a range that has electronic scoring targets at 200, 300, and 600 yards. The targets have acoustic sensors in the corners and can tell from the speed of sound from the impact where the bullet hit the target, and this is displayed on a screen back at the shooting station.

I have thought it would be fun to hold an N-SSA match there at period ranges for target practice.

That's a heck of a range, Steve. The 600-yard range would be a good place to put the new Italian Whitworth through its paces. Pedersoli barrels are among the best.
