Jet lagged, so found the mould(s) at four this morning. I have a Lyman 515139C and a Lyman 515139D. I don't know what the difference might be between those and a 515141, or the difference between the C and D on the moulds. Haven't used either in years, likely won't ever, so if you want one be really cheap. Email me off line at nssa6721v at g mail dot com. Bob

Bob
someone answered one of my threads when i asked what the c ment on the lyman mold i was selling, the answer was it's the batch that that group of molds were made like 515139c made 2000 515139d made 2002 ect.
The mold you mention i had some yrs ago, thought it would be a good mold for my maynard n0 soap, that mold was made for the 50-90 win or whatever mfg of that time, was longer then the 515139 & much more weight. Hope this helps.

The letters tell Lyman what cherry was used to cut the mold and the vintage. The molds should be the same.

The .515139 weighs in at 350 according to the box yet mine casts at 325
The .515141 weighs in at 450. The difference other then weight is the 141 is one more grease ring long then the 139.
The 139 is what we have referred to as the Smith/Maynard bullet forever. The 141 works greaat in 50/70 & 50/90 cartridge rounds.
I have known a few people to use the 141 in their Maynard with full capacity cases and 38 grains of powder to lob that chunk of lead. Do yourself a huge favor and use the 139. Lodgewood makes it in a four and six cavity mold. Aong Saturday of casting and you won't have to pick the mold up for another year.
