I have an 1862 dated Bridesburg marked lockplate with an"O" stamped underneath Bridesburg. What is the significance of the "O"? Thanks.

There must be some knowledgeable people out there that can answer this. Thanks!
Hallo!
I have not see n one yet. It is not a standard "production" thing, IMHO.
NUG (Normally, Usually, Generally) there are two versions of the Jenks made Bridesburg lock plates, plus one Jenks/Williams/Rich "Philadelphia" plate/

Claud E Fuller's The Rifled Musket doesn't mention an "O" being stamped on the lockplate. Seems like I have seen one stamped like that. Can't remember where or why though.
