Question to those of you who own a Sharps Carbine: What load are you using? Our newest acquisition is an Armi-Sport, relined, using Charlie Hahn's tubes....
2F or 3F...
Thanks!

I would not recommend using Goex 3f in your Sharps. Burns a little too hot. I used to use 45 grains of Goex 2f in my IAB and Pedersoli Sharps. A friend of mine just got an Armi Sport from Charlie Hahn and he recommended Swiss 2f with I believe 38 grains.
Best of luck with your new gun.
I too have found 2f to be better in mine. Likes a fairly hard lead. I'm shooting a Pedersoli. I have a short chamber, it only holds 38 gr. Rapine Christmas tree mold (though any brand of that mold should do) sized to 2/1000 over groove diameter, dipped in the lube of your choice.
Then again, I know guys shooting 50 gr of 3f and consistantly getting gold medal scores. So you just have to play around.
If you have a normal length chamber, odds are good it will hold 45 or more grains. Try a tube full to start, then start backing down with filler as needed.

I have a Shiloh Sharps 50 caliber with a Hahn conversion.
I have found that my carbine shoots extremely well with a christmas tree bullet unsized, lube, 60% Crisco 40 % bees wax, 40 grains 2F Goex, with a Hahn tube. My carbine uses a 1.2 tube.
Mike are you interested in a blank peep sight for your Sharps? $73.00 plus 5 for shipping. I will be at the Eva shoot.

Kevin,
I won't be at the Eva shoot.... Since you're travelling so far, stick around for an extra week and come over to Statesville Nov 13-15 for the Homecoming!
