View Full Version : Ever seen this type conversion for a Model 1841?

I've not seen this variation before.

Front and rear sights are very similar to a Model 1855 Rifle Musket. It mentions provisions for a bayonet, but none are visible in the photo. It must have used a clamping style lug.

Makes ya wonder,,,,someone lists a gun with that heafty ah price tag and they show you pictures from a planet away. I'd expect to see close-ups of the markings, plate, "ability to take a bayonet" etc.

I think it's an A. J Drake Mod. Rear sight base is different shape than Springfield. Long front band. No bayonet lug.

Its a Drake, I have one in my collection marked 51st Mass.

Marked Co. C, 46 Mass. It was less than half the price of the one shown with bayonet.
