The replacement nipple I purchased from Taylor's is marked on the package "#ACC/1028 - Musket Nipple - 8x1mm - Fits Armi Sport Muskets". It fits the Armi Sport M-1842 it was purchased for.

Thank you John, I believe you are correct, as I had a 5/16 x 24 that would not start in it.
Thanks again, Steve

Weird. Doesn't an M8x1 convert to 5/16x24 imperial? I'm using standard Ampco musket nipples.

An M8X1 thread does not convert to 5/16-24. They are enough different to not fit interchangeably. A 1 mm thread pitch is 25.4 threads per inch. Some imports use the original thread size and some us the metric size, the owner of an import firearm must know which their firearm has to buy replacements.

Did ArmiSport ever thread in imperial? My smoothies likes a little bigger flash hole so I use the old nipples out of my muskets, both of which have Whitacre barrels on. I'm certain he's not threading metric.

I called S & S, they said the Armi-Sport 1842 uses an 8 x 1mm nipple, so I have one on the way, thanks for all who replied.
