Is anyone having success shooting the Zoli .54 cal Mississippi with stock original barrel? If so what bullet/powder charge?

I had an original with a Bill Large barrel which shot extremely well with the old Lyman 533476 flat nose minie and 45 gr. of 2F. Don't know about the imports, but don't rule out all .54s.

I have shot a variety of .54's since 1984. And have done ok with them.

I use the 533476 opened up to .538 in a Hoyt .540 barrel with 45 grains Goex 3f. Powder charges are dependant on the rifling twist. My 1-56 needed more oomph.

Just a heads-up, Moose Moulds makes a very nice .54 cal. hollow base minie. I have one in .542" that I shoot in my Euroarms Mississippi. The bullet shoots very well with 40 grains of 3F.
