Stretched original barrel refinishing

I just received an H&P barrel back from Mr. Hoyt. What is the best way to refinish the barrel to match the original part of the barrel and the new stretched section?

Hambone,

You could always "lightly" brown the barrel.

Doing so, it would give the appearance of a nice (uniformed) patina as well as protect your barrel/bare metal from exposure/oxidation.
