I have a dilemma. I bought a mismatched "parts gun". I now have an excellent lock and barrel for an 1864 SN&WTC contract musket (like an 1863 Springfield, Type II), but the stock that came with it does not appear to be an SN&WTC stock because it has the wrong cartouches and has external band springs. All the SN&WTC stocks I could find used internal band springs. Because the lock and barrel are in such good shape, I would really like to put it all together in the most correct form, which requires the right stock. I can offer what appears to be a Springfield stock, in excellent condition in partial trade for a correct SN&WTC stock.
Or if someone has a really nice Springfield lock and matching barrel, I'd consider swapping the lock and barrel. I can provide detailed photos of what I have, if anyone is interested.
