I am certain this has been asked many times....but I searched and found nothing.
I need a shooter for the local club musket shoot.... .58 repro. Are any junk?
I find the Parker Hare are probably the best , what about the Zouvaes..Armi, compared tp Euroarms, etc.
I shoot smoothbore, flint, chunk, etc so I have way too many guns. I don't need a world beater, just one to compete with the boys a couple of times a year.

again, sorry for the newbie question.

Avoid any of the Indian made muskets. Most of those aren't even safe to shoot blanks!

Euroarms and Armisport can be good shooters, or not. It seems to be the luck of the draw. Many of the Italian guns have soft lock parts.

I shoot Parker-Hales these days, but I had a great shooting Zoli Zouave, built in the late '60s, as my first muzzleloader.

Find you a Zoli Zouave and you'll be fine. May have to work the trigger and sites ah wee tad to suit you. They can be found $225-375. Of course there are some that fomks ask a whole lot more for in mint condition or those that have extras with them.
