I need to find out what the going rate for some firearms I am trying to sell for my roommate and former Skirmisher, Ken Parsons once of the 3rd NC (I think).

He is going in to assisted living.

He has three sons down here around Raleigh but it is unlikely they are going to take up our wonderful sport.

SO, I have been charged with selling the stuff since I know you guys....

2ea - EuroArms Zouave, both need a bit of cleaning.
1ea - Navy Arms Henry 44-40, seems to be in good shape
1ea - EuroArms JP Murry Carbine, seems to be in good shape

There is also a Lee Turret Press with all the dies for 44-40 set up on it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Depends.

If the muskets are stock and not relined or with a new barrel, depending on how badly they need cleaning, probably not more than 300-400 bucks. If they have a new barrel from a known maker, quite a bit more.

Uberti Henry? Probably about a grand to 1100, depending on condition. The press and dies also depend, on what model. Standard lee turret press and dies, worth about another 50 bucks used, classic cast turret press with dies about double that.

No idea on the JP Murray. But again, maker, and any other info is needed.

Original post corrected

JP MURRY is also Euroarms.
Henry is marked as Navy Arms

Thanks for the help,

If the JP Murray carbine is in good shape, It could start at $450.00. They are neat little carbines, and have a cult following. They can be made to be very accurate.

I always hate to see firearms pass out of a family. Even if they aren't going to shoot them competitively, I hope the children get first crack at keeping/buying them.

They did and took all his "modern stuff" but they are not going to Skirmish.

To bad as he had THREE (3) sons.

I may keep on of the Zouaves, get it's lock fixed and a new barrel.

It shoots the same .579 I shoot out of my 1855 and Colt Special....

In reality....the Zouaves run $250-$350 depending on condition inside and out. Search back through old posts and you'll see.

The Henry....$750-$1100 depending on condition and what it has with it like the reloading setup.

If you search GunBroker.com on the CLOSED auction you'll see what they are actually bring. The For Sale side only tells you what people wish they could get.

Those prices are in line with what I have put in line with them.

This is what I am considering as the starting prices, since I think they are "fair".

$350 - 1ea - EuroArms Zouave
$250 - 1ea - EuroArms Zouave, lock and stock work needed
$1100 - 1ea - Navy Arms Henry 44-40, seems to be in good shape
$400 - 1ea - EuroArms JP Murry Carbine, seems to be in good shape

I am going to shoot all the "muskets" this weekend to see if they hit where they are pointed.
