I am considering selling my Garrett 1863 Sharps Carbine. When I decide what I am going to do,
I will post pictures. Right now, I am trying to decide what is a fair price. The Carbine is in pretty nice
shape. 90%+ original finish remains with a good bore. Missing the top cover on the priming device which I have tried
to replace using this forum and other sources. May be available, but only luck will find one.
The chamber is tight and I don't have a tool to remove/loosen it. The carbine is in original configuration
as imported by Frank Garrett in the 1970's/1980's.
My question is what is a fair value? I don't want to overprice it, but I also don't want to under price
either. I would rather sell on this forum as opposed to Gunbroker or other non Civil War forums.
I am a former N-SSA member of 2nd OVI, Company C of Columbus, OH about 30 years ago.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
