Questions about building a M1841 Mississippi Rifle

I am thinking seriously about building a M1841 Mississippi Rifle for myself. I am interested in making it as close to original as possible. I am probably going to use an original lock (if I can find one reasonably priced), Dunlap stock and Whitacre barrel if I do this. It looks like parts such as butt plate, patch box, bands, trigger guard assembly are quite expensive, so I am wondering if the parts for the Italian repos like Euroarms can be used, or whether they are inaccurate, undersized, or what have you? Also, any advice on a lock that is correct and functional, if I decide not to go with an original? Does anyone make a good repo lock plate?... Or hammer and other lock parts for a Mississippi? Thanks!

If you're fitting reproduction parts to a Dunlap stock they'll work. You might want to look at getting ruff cast parts and finishing them yourself it will be a lot cheaper than Euroarms parts. This looks like a good starting point though, if you're looking for that original look. I think the lock will clean up well, the wood needs some work and the barrel is ruff and needs to be stretched but for the price its not bad.
