    WTB: Potsdam breechplug/bolster assembly

Looking for a serviceable "back end" for a new Potsdam barrel. I bought a very nice 1809 Potty at Nats, serial numbers matching from bayonet to buttplate. But I fear the barrel is not to be trusted. I really don't want to seriously alter a musket that's been around since 1822 by re-lining it. I would rather keep the original barrel in the safe and install a whole new shooting unit. But these Potsdam parts are not readily found. I've tried Lodgewood and the Log cabin Shop to no avail.

If anyone has a cut-down or otherwise generally useless Potsdam barrel with the "back end" still attached and not buggered beyond use, please drop me a line. Thanks.

Try the Rifle Shoppe. They list these on their website. Good luck.
