    Shortest trigger pull ?

Is there an approved musket out there with a shorter trigger pull distance (trigger to butt plate) than the usual 13 1/2" Springfield / Richmond / Zouave ?
I am looking for something more comfortable for my daughter, she has to reach a bit for the trigger.

How bout the SNWTC cadet rifle ? or the Colt & LG & Y / Amoskeg ?

Thanks in advance for the help,
    Gary B.

    Gary,

The only Rifle Musket, Artillery, etc., with a shorter than standard 13 1/2" trigger pull is the U.S. Model 1855/58 Cadet. The trigger pull is 12 1/2". It is a scarce arm as an original, but can be built up as a replica.

I published an article on the U.S. Cadet series of arms in the Skirmish Line magazine for the Summer 2007 issue. The article included copies of the Small Arms Committee inspection sheets for all N-SSA recognized Cadet arms, including the 1851 models, both smooth and rifled versions. The Editor, Rick Dunbrook, took great pains to use a font and format that was not only easily readable, but able to be copied on common copy machines.

    Sincerely,

    John,
I found and re-read your article, great information. Looks like the Cadet Type II will be a definate possibility for a project. Thanks a bunch.

    Eddie,
Or maybe we just stretch her arms a wee bit

    Phil,
C'mon now, she's ALLOT purdier than Dickie Dodd, and besides, it's 3 bander and Dickie probly couldn't reach the muzzel end :-).

Thanks for the help guys, and those who PM'd me,
