In remembrance today of the 150th Anniversary of the battle of First Bull Run, here's a silver plated Pocket Colt that was presented to Philo M. Beers of the First Connecticut Infanury on April 24, 1861. Philo fought at the battle of First Bull Run and may very well of had this revolver with him.

John Gross

Philo worked for the Wheeler and Wilson Sewing Machine Company for 50 years, thus the inclusion of the trade cards in the photo.

Part of the backstrap inscription. Messrs. Larkins and Kingman were business associates of Philo.

The bottom of the backstrap showing the date of presentation, which is the same date that Philo was mustered into service.
