    Maynard Tape Primers

Well I located my original roll of Maynard tape primers and am ready to go into business with somebody. The primer roll will provide the exact dimensions for making copies. All one will need is a supply of primer pellets, some sticky paper and some ambition. All I'll require for my technical help is 30% of the gross. Who's ready???

    Re: Maynard Tape Primers

I'll tell you guys I've studied this original roll for many many minutes and I'm still at a loss how they got it like it is. It appears the pellet was placed on really thin paper and then covered by another layer of really thin paper that would actually conform to the shape of the pellet . The whole thing was then apparently coated with some sort of varnish that made the strip very stiff, seeminingly much stronger, and according to the original mfg., water proof. I know there is a paper expert out there that comprehends what occured in the making of these things and can duplicate it.
On the financial side, I'm certainly not greedy, and if it's the case that I have asked too much for my share in the revenue stream for this project, I'm flexible here and probably could be coaxed down to like 27 and one-half per cent.

The ones I have are copper foil with the "pellet" that is pushed by the feeder pall through the top of the lockplate hump and spaced to time with the hammer's paper cutter off the mailspring of the M1855,rifle/musket/rifle.

Surely this a poor joke, these are available ever so often,so why would anyone make them and pay you a royalty when they could just buy a roll themselves. Sorry don't see it, but I guess it does not hurt to ask.

So who makes them? Can you be a bit more specific than "available now and then." I'm willing to forego the 27 and one-half per cent if there was a known source.

    Re: Maynard Tape Primers

Why would anyone want these rolls of caps? Well now, that's an easy one. If these were available for consumption by shooters there is a real advantage in a timed event such as we shoot in matches. The 1855 musket was designed for these caps and the 1855 muskets were issued and used in the war. Bring em on and I'll shoot faster than I've ever shot before. I wouldn't have to fumble to get a cap out of my cap pouch and place in on the nipple to discharge my musket. All I would need to do would be to load and pull the hammer back and let her rip!

You go Harry!!! I think there is a potential big market for these buggers including me. I'd especially love to shoot my little Mass. Arms Maynard revolver -- properly.
